The school was founded in 1922 as Primary school and upgraded to Middle school in 1950. School came to exist as high school in 1959  and inaugurated by Dr. Y.S. Parmar, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh on 25th October 1965. School was upgraded to Senior Secondary School in 1996 inaugurated by  Sh. Jai Bihari Lal Khachai, PWD Minister and Sh. Krishan Datt Sultanpuri, M.P. presides over the ceremony on 24th June 1996.
Following served as HeadMaster w.e.f. 1960 to June 1996 -
INDER SINGH NEGI, GIRJA NAND, PREM SWAROOP SHARMA, P.L. SHARMA, SANDEEP SHAUTHA, B.L.GUPTA, BRIJ MOHAN NATH,BANSI LAL, S.K.MEHTA.
Following served as Principal w.e.f. 1996 to Dec.2002 -
SUKESH SHARMA (offg), M.Y.ANSARI, TRIVENI BHARDWAJ (offg), S.M. SONDHI, D.R. MEHTA (offg).
and Presently Roshan Jaswal is serving as Principal

    I am very glad to see the website of GSSS Baragaon. This site will boost to each and every person/school of the state to have open/made their school's webstie. I would like to thank the Principal of the GSSS School in his kind cooperation and personal attention for making such site. I also thanks the staff team of GSSS Baragaon.
